Online Barcode and QR Code Scanner
Scan QR codes and barcodes directly in your browser with a phone or laptop camera, or upload an image or screenshot. Decoding happens on your device, so the camera feed and results are not uploaded. It reads retail, industrial and 2D codes, and works offline once loaded.
Formats it reads
- Retail: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E and ISBN.
- Industrial: Code 128, Code 39, ITF and Codabar, plus GS1-128 and GS1 DataBar with AI parsing.
- 2D: QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec.
- Several codes in one image are detected, and you can tap the one you need.
More than a camera reader
Links are checked for phishing signs before you open them. Wi-Fi codes show the network and password, contact cards can be saved, and GS1 data is broken down into GTIN, lot, expiry and serial. Product barcodes offer optional lookup buttons that send the number to an outside site only when you tap. Every scan can be saved to a local history, searched and exported.
Batch mode keeps scanning without interruption and can copy all results as a table for Excel or Google Sheets.
Tips for difficult codes
Hold the camera steady at a distance where the code fills about half the frame, and use the flash or zoom in low light. Glossy or curved surfaces reflect light, so tilt the item slightly. Very small or damaged barcodes often scan better from a sharp photo, which you can drop or paste into the page. USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners also work: just scan while the page is open, without clicking into a text field.
How to make it
- Open Scan and allow camera access when the browser asks.
- Point the camera at the code, or choose Scan an image to use a photo or screenshot.
- Review the result, the safety rating for links and any parsed GS1 data.
- Copy, open, share or save the result to History.
Frequently asked questions
Is the online scanner private?
Yes. Images and camera frames are decoded on your device and are not uploaded. The camera is used only while the scan screen is open.
Can I scan a barcode from a screenshot?
Yes. Use Scan an image, drag a file onto the page or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.
Why will my laptop camera not start?
Browsers allow camera access only on secure HTTPS pages and with your permission. Check the site permission settings and close other apps using the camera.
Does it work without internet?
Once the page has loaded, scanning works offline. Only optional product lookups and opening links need a connection.
